Statement of Privacy

Ravel Virtual Studios (“Ravel”) Philosophy on Privacy: Privacy is of great significance to Ravel. Because Ravel gathers important information from our clients (“Clients”), we have established this privacy policy (“Privacy Statement”) as a means to communicate our information gathering and dissemination practices.

Collected Information: We require Clients who register to use the services offered on our Ravel Website (“Site”) (collectively, the "Services") to give us information, such as individual name, address, phone number, e-mail address and credit card information (collectively, the “Personal Information”). In addition, any Client who wishes to receive an academic discount will be asked to send to Ravel a copy of his or her student identification card. Ravel uses the information that we collect to create an account for Services for a Client. A Client is also asked to provide an e-mail address, when registering for an Account, in order to receive an initial password. We may e-mail information to Clients at the email address that the Client provides regarding the Services the Client has requested, updates to the Services offered by Ravel or about our company. Except (i) as provided for in this Privacy Statement or in the Ravel Terms of Use Agreement, and (ii) to process payment transactions for the Services, we do not disclose to third parties the Personal Information provided to us.

Each Client will be utilizing the Site to enable Ravel to produce a recording of the musical score provided by the Client to Ravel. By using the Services, Client agrees that the Client will provide his/her own musical compositions in music notation formats specified by Ravel and that Ravel will utilize the musical notations to produce the recordings as requested by the Client. Ravel will not otherwise review, share, distribute, print or reference any such information, except as provided in this Privacy Statement or in the Terms of Use Agreement.

Ravel may disclose personally identifiable information in response to legal process (for example, in response to a court order or subpoena). Ravel may also disclose such information in response to a law enforcement agency’s request or where Ravel believes it is necessary to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of the Ravel Terms of Use Agreement, or as otherwise required by law. In addition, Ravel may transfer information about Clients if Ravel is acquired by or merged with another company.

Individual records may at times be viewed or accessed by Ravel for the sole purpose of resolving a technical Site-related problem or suspected violation of the Terms of Use Agreement, or as may be required by law.

Client shall be responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of Client’s user name and/or password and for restricting access to Client’s computer or account. Client is responsible for (a) the use of Client’s information or access to the account by any individual with whom Client (i) shares his/her user name and/or password, or (ii) authorizes to use the Client’s account, and/or (b) any unauthorized use or access that results in whole or in part from the Client’s failure to protect the confidentiality of Client’s user name, password, computer or account.

Ravel may also collect certain information from Clients, such as Internet Protocol addresses. This information is logged to help diagnose technical problems and to administer our Site in order to constantly improve the quality of the Services. We may also track and analyze non-identifying and aggregate usage and volume statistical information from our Clients and provide such information to third parties. If personally identifiable information is disclosed by Ravel to third parties acting as our agents, such third parties will be required to comply with Ravel’s Privacy Statement.

Although we take appropriate measures to safeguard against unauthorized disclosures of information, we cannot assure Clients that personally identifiable information that we collect will never be disclosed in a manner that is inconsistent with this Privacy Statement.

Cookies: When a Client or visitor interacts with the Site, we strive to make that experience easy and meaningful. When a Client or visitor comes to the Site, our Web server sends a cookie to the Client’s or visitor’s computer. Cookies are files that Web browsers place on a computer’s hard drive and are used to tell us whether Clients and visitors have visited the Site previously.

Stand-alone cookies do not identify a Client or visitor personally. They merely recognize that Client or visitor’s browser. Unless a Client or visitor chooses to identify itself to Ravel by opening an account, it remains anonymous to Ravel. Cookies come in two “flavors”: session and persistent-based. Session cookies exist only during an online session and disappear from the Client or visitor’s computer when the Client or visitor closes its browser software or turns off its computer. Persistent cookies remain on a Client or visitor’s computer after it has closed its browser or turned off its computer. Persistent cookies include such information as a unique identifier for a browser.

Ravel uses session cookies containing encrypted information to allow the system to uniquely identify a Client while the Client is logged in. This information allows Ravel to process a Client’s online transactions and requests. Session cookies help us make sure the Client is who it says it is after the Client has logged in and are required in order to use the Ravel Site. Clients who disable their Web browsers’ ability to accept cookies will be able to browse our Site but will not be able to successfully use our Services.

Opt-Out Policy: If, at any time after registering to use Ravel, a Client changes its decision about receiving information from us or about sharing its information with third parties, the Client should send us a request specifying its new choice. Simply send the request to help@ravel-vs.com.

Correcting and Updating Your Information: Clients can update or remove their Personal Information at any time by logging into the Site and editing their Personal Information within “Settings > Update personal information.”

Clients can view their updated Personal Information to confirm that their edits have been made. For any related questions, the Client should e-mail the question to help@ravel-vs.com, and Ravel will respond with reasonable promptness following receipt of the email.

Additional Information: Questions regarding this Privacy Statement or the practices of this Site should be e-mailed to help@ravel-vs.com. Ravel will respond with reasonable promptness following receipt of the email.

Privacy Policy Change: Ravel reserves the right to make changes to this Privacy Statement. Any material changes to this Privacy Statement will be prominently posted online and accessible via the Site 30 days prior to taking effect. Your continued access of the Site or use of Services will constitute consent to the terms of the prevailing Privacy Statement.
